Patterson returns to starting lineup

By Nick Borges

The Houston Rockets came into Tuesday's game against the Clippers on a three-game losing streak, so head coach Kevin McHale decided to move Patrick Patterson back into the starting power forward position for the first time since Dec. 14.

“I’m happy and excited to finally get my starting spot back,” Patterson told the Houston Chronicle. “I’ve been wanting it since I first came back, but we were in a groove with Marcus Morris in the starting lineup. Coach said he would put me back in the starting lineup, so I’m definitely happy. Of course I feel better than coming off the bench, but as long as I’m playing I’m happy overall.”

The move didn't pay off Tuesday as the Rockets lost 117-109 and Patterson played only 16 minutes. He also had just five points and two rebounds in the game.
