More minutes for Marshall?
By Joe Kaiser
Kendall Marshall has scored just 7 points in a mere 52 minutes as a rookie in Phoenix this season, but according to Vince Marotta of Arizona Sports the young point guard could soon be in line for a bump in playing time.
The Suns' surprisingly strong start to the season is suddenly a distant memory, and in recent weeks coach Alvin Gentry has started to give more playing time to the team's younger, less-proven players. Going forward, Marotta believes that the Suns (13-27) could be closer to a full-fledged youth movement.
"That could mean Suns fans will see a lot more of first round pick Kendall Marshall, who has logged only 52 minutes in the team's first 40 games," writes Marotte. "It could also mean more Wes Johnson and Luke Zeller, who have also played sparingly this season."
