Knicks' Tuesday workout
By Nick Borges
The New York Knicks are considering roster options with two weeks to go until training camp opens and the last two days they held workouts for several players who may be extended a contract.
According to Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork.com, the players in attendance were Ricky Davis, Cole Aldrich, Ike Diogu, Josh Powell and Justin Brownlee.
The Knicks currently have 12 players with fully guaranteed salaries for 2013-14, so potentially they have three spots up for competition, although they may not be filled when opening night rosters are set due to the luxury tax. The Knicks will be over the threshold this season, but it just comes down to how much they want to pay. The Knicks have never shied away from paying the tax, however their bill will exceed $35 million should they carry a full 15-man squad for the entire season.
Out if this weeks group the player who should get a hard look is Aldrich since the Knicks need more depth at center.
