Parker's quest to win EuroBasket title
By Nick Borges
Tony Parker has had a very successful career playing for Les Bleus, the French national team, and his last goal is to win a EuroBasket title. Parker says he will come back in two years should France fail to win the tournament this week.
"It would be great," Parker tells Mark Woods, writing for ESPN.com. "It would be the last trophy. Because in the NBA I won everything. In European basketball, no. Two years ago, we were pretty close. If it doesn't happen this year, I'll come back in 2015 and try to do it again. That's basketball. That's life. If you're not good enough. You'll try again. You try to improve and get better and do it next time."
20015 could be a big year if Parker does return to the national team as it might be his last season with the San Antonio Spurs. The contracts for Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Parker expire after the 2014-15 season. Duncan and Ginobili are expected to retire, along with head coach Gregg Popovich, and Parker may follow them or look to sign with another team. The Spurs are likely to go into a "rebuild-mode" in the summer of 2015, which likely won't appeal to Parker.
