Can Vesely play at center?
By Nick Borges
The Washington Wizards used the Las Vegas Summer League to try out power forward Jan Vesely at center and his play was mixed. On offense he did alright averaging 11.6 points and shooting 58 percent from the floor. On defense he struggled, especially in transition.
“It was (difficult) for our whole team. Sometimes we fell asleep on coming back,” Vesely told J. Michael of CSN Washington. “We were not that focused on coming back.”
Vesely still needs to get stronger as it's difficult to hold his own against bulkier players -- centers. Vesely may spend some time at center when head coach Randy Wittman wants to play "small ball", however at this time he still is a project, according to Michael.
