Next up for Cavs: sign Bynum
By Nick Borges
The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to officially sign Andrew Bynum on Friday to the partially guaranteed two-year, $24 million contract, reports the Akron Beacon-Journal.
According to the newspaper, Bynum will spend a good potion of time between today and the start of training camp working with the Cavs to make sure both knees are healthy and to improve his fitness after sitting out all of last season.
Once Bynum's contract is signed the next order of business will be to complete the deals for rookies Anthony Bennett, Sergey Karasev and Carrick Felix. At that time the Cavs will have 15 players under contract, however two spots can open up if they release Kevin Jones or Chris Quinn. Both of those players have no salary protection for 2013-14. C.J. Miles is in the same boat, however he seems to be a lock to make the opening night roster.
