Millsap best bargain in free agency
By Nick Borges
The Atlanta Hawks signed free agent power forward Paul Millsap to a two-year, $19 million contract and ESPN Insider Tom Haberstroh believes this deal might be the best bargain of the summer.

"If the Kirilenko contract isn't the steal of the summer, this one might be. The Atlanta Hawks nabbed Millsap for just $19 million over two years, which is less money than more than 20 free agents signed for, including Carl Landry, Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon. In fact, former Utah teammate Al Jefferson received more than twice as much guaranteed dough as Millsap ($40.5 million over three years) despite Millsap being younger, similarly efficient and far superior on defense. Millsap is a darling of the advanced stats community. Perhaps the most predictive all-in-one metric out there -- regularized adjusted plus-minus -- pegged him as the seventh-most valuable player in the league last season. Millsap may not be quite that good, but he's certainly better overall than Jefferson.
