Forman, Thibodeau rift?

Chicago Bulls lead assistant coach Ron Adams did not have his contract renewed and the decision was made by general manager Gar Foreman. In most cases the head coach names his staff. Could there be a rift with Forman and head coach Tom Thibodeau?
From K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune: "The move raised eyebrows within and outside the organization as perhaps the first public indication of tension between Forman and Thibodeau. ... Sources said Forman objected to Adams’ displeasure with personnel decisions. Other unknown factors obviously could have factored in the decision as well. The move also was read by some with ties to the organization as Forman making a power play on Thibodeau, who took his time signing the four-year, $17.5 million extension ..."
Adams is expected to go back to the Oklahoma City Thunder and take Maurice Cheeks' spot as Scott Brooks' top assistant.
