Wolves end experiment with Roy

The Minnesota Timberwolves hired Flip Saunders last week to be the new president of basketball operations and Friday he made his first roster transaction by releasing Brandon Roy. The veteran guard tried to make a comeback after retiring in 2011, but was only able to play in the first five regular season games before knee issues sidelined him.
