Wiz backcourt still banged up

3/29/2013

The Washington Wizards will continue to face opponents with a thinned-out backcourt for a while, because Bradley Beal and Martell Webster are not ready to return from their respective injuries. According to Michael Lee of the Washington Post, coach Randy Wittman said he doesn't expect Beal to test out his troublesome ankle for another week, while Webster admitted that his abdominal injury could keep him out of action for another two weeks.

Webster tried to battle through his injury for almost a month before finally succumbing to it this week. Beal has only played three games since first injuring his ankle on March 3.

With less than a month remaining in the NBA season, there is at least a chance that we won't see either of them back in action, though it appears that Beal likely is closer than Webster to returning to action. In the interim, John Wall will carry a heavier load for the Wiz, Garrett Temple will continue to start and Chris Singleton could get enough extra run to help teams in deep fantasy leagues.
