Desperate times call for desperate measures, and when Chicago resorted to signing D.J. Augustin a week-and-a-half ago it felt like a pretty desperate measure. Augustin, a first-round pick by Charlotte in 2008, had been cut by Toronto after barely come off the bench in 10 games for the Raptors this season.
Fast-forward to today, and it's incredible how quickly things have changed. Kirk Hinrich's lingering back troubles have opened the door for Augustin to come in and start, and he's made the most of the opportunity.
