So Kevin Love is reportedly set to join the Cleveland Cavaliers after a six-year run in Minnesota... and the knee-jerk reaction by most NBA fans is that the Timberwolves will be really bad next season -- quite possibly even one of the worst teams in the Western Conference.
That could prove to be an exaggeration. Lets not forget the presence of veterans Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic, Kevin Martin and, if the rumors are true, Thaddeus Young on this roster. And we haven't even mentioned Andrew Wiggins or Zach LaVine, two high-upside guys who have the talent to make a big rookie impact.
But given how talented the Western Conference will be yet again in 2014-15, it's difficult to project too many teams being worse than the Wolves. Sacramento? Maybe. Utah? Perhaps. New Orleans or the Los Angeles Lakers? Doubtful. And if Minnesota is that bad, one must believe that it'll look to unload their two pricy veterans: Pekovic and Martin.
