So how will being unable to participate in the combine affect his draft stock?
I reached out to ESPN Insider Jeff Goodman for his take on what it could mean for McGary, as well as some of the others who won't participate.
Michigan's Mitch McGary will miss the NBA draft combine. "Back is better, but still not quite ready for drills & athletic testing," ESPN Insider Chad Ford tweeted.
