The Los Angeles Lakers were granted a disabled player's exception last week due to Jordan Hill's season-ending surgery. That means the Lakers can spend about $1.78 million to sign a free agent or take on extra salary via a trade. However, even with Pau Gasol slated to miss at least the next six weeks due to a foot injury, a team source told ESPNLosAngeles.com that they aren't dead set on using the exception.
