Little interest in Inge
By Doug Mittler
Brandon Inge has managed to last 12 seasons in the major leagues despite a .234 career batting average, and he even made an AL All-Star team in 2009.
But Inge turns 36 in May and is coming off a rough 2012 season in which his numbers for the A's were a mere .226/.286/.389. Lynn Henning of the Detroit News says there is “no loud chatter” regarding interest in Inge, and asks if the veteran infielder has reached the end of the line. If a team does sign the Virginia native, it will almost certainly involve a minor league deal.
