Bogaerts for Lee?
By Jason A. Churchill
The Boston Red Sox reportedly have interest in acquiring left-hander Cliff Lee, but it's apparently going to cost them shortstop prospect Xander Boagerts, reports Rob Bradford of WEEI.com.
The Phillies clearly don't feel pressure to move Lee, as they are talking only to a few clubs, but they have long been looking to improve the youth in their organization, particularly in regards to the everyday lineup. Bogaerts is an elite talent. It's unclear whether the Red Sox would consider such a deal.
Other Red Sox young players that could be involved if the two teams hook up include right-handers Anthony Ranaudo and Matt Barnes, catcher Ryan Lavarnway and left-hander Henry Owens.
