No timetable for Manny
By Doug Mittler
Manny Ramirez played his first game for the Round Rock Express Sunday night, collecting an opposite-field single in three at-bats for the Texas Rangers' Triple-A affiliate.
The Rangers recently took a flier on the 41-year old Ramirez, who hasn't played in the major leagues since 2011 but has a resume that includes 555 homers. There is no timetable as when the Rangers feel the 12-time All-Star might be ready to face big league pitching, reports Todd Wills of ESPNDallas.com.
The Rangers could use an extra bat after 37-year-old designated hitter Lance Berkman was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an injury to his hip or lower back. In case you were wondering, Manny is not an option.
