Blue Jays finally done dealing?
By Doug Mittler
The Toronto Blue Jays had been in the market for a right-handed utility infielder, and filled that void Tuesday with a deal for veteran Mark DeRosa.
MLB.com’s Gregor Chisholm says the Blue Jays appear to be mostly done with their offseason roster makeover that has made them a legitimate AL East contender. The Jays might add another reliever, but even that is less likely after Darren Oliver recently announced he would put off retirement for another year. Any free agent signed at this point will involve a minor league deal.
Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun says the Jays' bench will consist of Emilio Bonifacio, unless he wins the second-base job from Maicer Izturis, outfielder Rajai Davis, catcher Henry Blanco and DeRosa.
