Why Hamilton left work early
By Doug Mittler
The Angels' Josh Hamilton and his manager had a difference of opinion as to why the outfielder left after six innings of Monday’s 11-4 loss to Kansas City.
Skipper Mike Scioscia said Hamilton was "a little lightheaded," but Hamilton told Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times: "I was not lightheaded. I was just sick."
This is not a big deal, but it does call into question why Hamilton felt the need to publicly contradict his manager. Hamilton said he has tried to play through an illness for 10 days to two weeks, but he is hitting .273 over his last six games as compared to a .212 BA overall.
