Stepping in for Altuve
By Doug Mittler
The Houston Astros will be without Jose Altuve after the second baseman was placed on the bereavement list following the death of his grandmother.
Players must stay on the bereavement list for a minimum of three days. The Astros called infielder Jake Elmore from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the roster space. In Altuve’s absence, the Astros are likely to slide Marwin Gonzalez over to second base and use Ronny Cedeno at shortstop.
