Another setback in the desert
By Jason Catania
On the verge of returning to the majors, Daniel Hudson's career is now in question.
While recovering from Tommy John surgery, the right-hander in Arizona Diamondbacks organization re-tore his ulnar collateral ligament, per Jeff Passan of Yanoo! Sports.
It is believed Hudson will undergo a second TJ surgery.
Hudson had left his most recent rehab start early after experiencing tightness in the elbow, per Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic
Hudson's progress had been coming along nicely until the past week, and there was even a chance he could have made it back by the end of June. At this point, however, his career is in jeopardy, as the list of two-time TJers isn't exactly flush with success stories. Passan notes that Chris Capuano is the best example.
Hudson underwent his procedure last July 9. Presumably, if he goes ahead with another operation, it would come around the same time this year.
