Updates on Rangers' Feliz, Soria
By Jason Catania
For all the injuries the Texas Rangers are dealing with in their rotation, at least they may get one bullpen reinforcement back by midseason.
One-time Rangers closer Neftali Feliz and Joakim Soria, formerly the ninth-inning man for the Kansas City Royals, are both progressing in their recoveries from Tommy John surgery, according to Drew Davison of the Star-Telegram.
Soria, who had his procedure last April, did suffer a pectoral strain while throwing live batting practice Friday and could miss a few days, but it didn't appear to be something that would seriously alter his timeline. Soria could make it back by the All-Star break.
Meanwhile, Feliz, who underwent the ligament replacement surgery in August, has been long-tossing out to 105 feet, but he's unlikely to return until late-summer, if at all. He could be a useful piece to get back for the stretch run, though, if he's ready.
