Jered Weaver left Sunday night's start after injuring his left (non-throwing) elbow avoiding a comebacker. What's his status going forward?
It looks like the Angels right-hander could miss his next outing, tweets Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register.
Here's video footage of the strained elbow, which happened when Weaver dove out of the way to avoid a line drive off the bat of Mitch Moreland in the sixth inning.
The schedule puts Weaver in line to go on Saturday against the Astros, but if he isn't ready, it's likely either Garrett Richards or Jerome Williams would take his place.
If there's one player the Angels cannot afford to lose for an extended period of time, it's their ace, who led the AL with 20 wins and a 1.02 WHIP while also finishing third in ERA 2.81.
