Another Triple-A trip for Wood?
By Doug Mittler
Among the players trying to win a roster spot for the Kansas City Royals is Brandon Wood, a one-time top prospect of the Angels who was unable to reach the Mendoza Line in parts of five seasons in Anaheim (.168 BA).
Wood spent last season with the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate in Colorado Springs, posting a modest slash line of .259/.313/.409. Bob Dutton of the Kansas City Star says the 27-year-old Wood is likely headed to Triple-A Omaha unless he has a huge spring or if Mike Moustakas suffers an injury.
