Overbay the odd man out in Boston?

The Boston Red Sox added another left-handed-hitting first baseman/outfielder to their mix with Wednesday’s deal for Mike Carp, and the odd man out could be Lyle Overbay.
Overbay was signed by Boston to a minor league deal earlier this year with Mitch Maier and Mark Hamilton, among others. Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com suggests the Brewers, who have been beset by injuries at first base, could be calling.
Overbay, a career .270 hitter, has played for five teams, including the Brewers in 2004 and 2005.
