Rotation spot for Bedard?
By Doug Mittler
On a team that is trending young, 33-year-old Erik Bedard is on pace to have a spot at the back end of the Houston Astros’ rotation, reports Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle.
The Astros are the fourth team in three years for Bedard, who struggled to a 7-14 record with a 5.01 ERA in Pittsburgh last season. The race for spots in the Astros rotation remains, but at this stage Bedard could slot in behind Bud Norris, Lucas Harrell, Jordan Lyles and Philip Humber.
Of course, this could all change if Norris, the subject of trade speculation, is moved, so stay tuned.
