Rios could bat third
By Doug Mittler
Alex Rios thrived in the No. 5 spot in the Chicago White Sox order last season, but manager Robin Ventura has suggested the right fielder could end up batting third.
Adam Dunn hit third in 2012, and Ventura wouldn’t mind putting some distance between Dunn and leadoff man Alejandro De Aza, his only lefties unless outfielder Dewayne Wise is playing, reports Daryl Van Schouwen of the Sun-Times. Rios, a solid .304/.334/.516 last season, says he is fine with the possible switch, which makes sense since he could end up seeing better pitches hitting in front of Paul Konerko and Dunn.
