Nelson Cruz will reject the Texas Rangers' $14.1 million qualifying offer, and seek a multi-year deal on the open market, according to Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Problem is, in order to sign a player that rejects a qualifying offer, a team will have to forfeit a top draft pick. That's one of several reasons Cruz' decision to pass on the lucrative one-year deal could backfire.
