Infante in Yankees plans?

According to the New York Post, should the New York Yankees end up losing Robinson Cano to free agency, they may turn to Omar Infante as a replacement. The Detroit Tigers had previously announced that they were not planning on extending any qualifying offers to their free agents, including Infante, so the Yankees would not have to worry about forfeiting a draft pick if they signed the infielder to a deal.
