The Baltimore Orioles fell short of a postseason berth, but it was not for a lack of trying. Among the midseason moves was a three-month rental of righthander Scott Feldman, who will be eligible for free agency this fall.
Feldman was just 5-6 with a 4.27 ERA in 15 starts for the Orioles following a trade with the Cubs, but there is “mutual interest" in the pitcher remaining in Baltimore, reports Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com.
That could change if some other team overpays for Feldman, who made $7 million this season. Given the demand for starting pitching, that is always a possibility.
