Will Barry Zito pitch in 2014?

Barry Zito's final appearance as a San Francisco Giant earlier this week ended with a win over the rival Los Angeles Dodgers, all but completing the seven-year, $126 million deal he signed with the club in the fall of 2007. The outing also wrapped up a forgettable 2013 season for Zito (5-11, 5.75 ERA, 1.71 WHIP), making it a foregone conclusion that the Giants will give him a $7 million buyout rather than pick up his $18 million option for 2014.

Considering that Zito is set financially and coming off such a poor season, the question must be asked: Has the crafty left-hander thrown his final pitch in the major leagues?
