Maurer's 2014 role in Seattle

Brandon Maurer was so impressive this spring that he left Seattle little choice other than to bring him to the big leagues, despite the former 23rd round pick having never thrown a pitch above Double-A.

The results? They've been unkind to the big right-hander, as might have been expected. Maurer was sent back to the minors at the end of May, where he struggled, and has continued to scuffle since returning to the Mariners at the end of July in a relief role. So what's in store for the 23-year-old in 2014?
