Considering the breakout season Kansas City catcher Salvador Perez had as a 22-year-old last season, much of this season has been pretty disappointing for those who made a point to have Perez on their fantasy squad.
As of Aug. 15, Perez was batting a respectable .271 but the power from 2012 had yet to show up; At that time, he had only 4 home runs and a .371 slugging percentage. By that point, many of those who designated Perez as a keeper heading into the season had cut bait, and as of today Perez is still available in 45.2 percent of ESPN leagues. That could be about to change.
