Second guessing Phillips?

Opening Day is typically a time of optimism for major league baseball teams. Everybody is tied for first place, and any lingering disappointment from the previous season is forgotten. Managers, presumably, put their optimal lineup on the field that day - in order to put the team's "best foot forward" and make a statement as to what the upcoming season will bring.
