All hopes the Detroit Tigers may have had of addressing hole at shortstop with the return of Jose Iglesias came to an end Wednesday, as it was announced that the young infielder will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.
“We do not plan on having Iglesias back with us this year,” Dave Dombrowski, the Tigers president and general manager, told The Detroit News.
The 24-year-old is progressing from the shin fractures that were discovered during spring training, but not to the point where he'll be able to help the club this season.
