There isn't much left on the free agent market with veterans Carlos Lee, Bobby Abreu and Johnny Damon each generally viewed as designated hitter material at this stage of their careers. Injury-prone Grady Sizemore could be a name the Mets look into, if they haven't already, though it's difficult to envision any club counting on him to stay healthy.
For depth purposes, Scott Podsednik, whom the Minnesota Twins are considering according to ESPN 1500, could make some sense.
