Dilson Herrera slugged his first major league home run on Monday in just his fourth game since being recalled from Double-A Binghamton, and helped change the complexion of a game the New York Mets went on to win.

The Mets insisted on getting the 20-year-old Columbian in last summer's deal with Pittsburgh that sent Marlon Byrd the Pirates' way, and he's done nothing but hit at each stop this season: .307/.355/.410 in the first half with St. Lucie, and .340 with 10 home runs, 48 RBI and nine steals in 241 at-bats at Binghamton.

How bright is the future for the young infielder?
