College of Southern Nevada right-hander Phil Bickford punched out 10 batters over six innings of work Friday and continues to be one of the most polarizing prospects in this year's draft.
Bickford was selected 10th overall in 2013 by Toronto and chose not to sign. He attended Cal State Fullerton for his freshman year, then saw his stock explode on the Cape last summer before deciding to transfer to a junior college to be draft-eligible this year. I saw Bickford in February, and he looked like a mid- to late first-rounder, sitting 88-93 with good command and flashing a plus slider. Since then, reports of Bickford's performance have been baffling.
Eric Longenhagen has the latest on MLB draft prospects Phil Bickford, Kyler Murray, Kyle Tucker and others, noting scout disagreement on a few players.
