Louisville's Seattle pipeline

Louisville's big commitment from ESPN 60 wing Shaqquan Aaron (Seattle, Wash./Rainier Beach High) over the weekend is the Cardinals' latest recruiting coup for a big-time player out of the Emerald City.

If you remember, and you probably do, Rick Pitino ventured to Seattle to land ESPN 100 point guard Peyton Siva back in 2009 and several years earlier he did the same to get future NBA first-rounder Terrence Williams.

While Siva attended Franklin High, Aaron and Williams are both from Rainier Beach High, the top basketball high school in Seattle over the past 20 years and a school that also produced NBA players Doug Christie, Jamal Crawford and Nate Robinson.

In Aaron, the Cardinals land ESPN's No. 51 recruit in 2014, a 6-foot-6 wing with loads of potential. Here's Reggie Rankin of Recruiting Nation with more.

Reggie Rankin
Aaron brings versatility to Louisville
"Aaron is an extra long and lean guard/forward. He excels in transition by getting to the rim or spotting up for the open 3-pointer. In the half-court set Aaron has the length to shoot over small defenders with range to the arc. He also can go by his defender with quick first-step slashes and pull-up jumpers. He finishes with length as opposed to strength at this stage of his game. He can rebound and ignite the break with his ability to bust out dribble and is a tip-in threat on the offensive class. Aaron is also a very capable multiple-position perimeter defender. He will need to continue to add strength but his versatility and upside are tremendous."
