Kansas' stifling defense
By Joe Kaiser
Bill Self and the 15-1 Kansas Jayhawks are at it again this season, and one needs to only look at some of the team's defensive numbers to understand why.
Entering Wednesday, KU leads the nation in opponent's 2-point field goal percentage (36 percent). One of the big reasons why is Jeff Withey's presence in the middle, and the big senior center's ability to block or change so many shots. We saw it in the Baylor game, and we've seen it all season long.
The Jayhawks are currently blocking 21.8 percent of their opponent's 2-point field goal attempts, which ranks second only to Syracuse (22.2 percent) nationally according to KenPom.com.
