How many Pac-12 teams will dance?

By Joe Kaiser

Last season Colorado was the lone Pac-12 representative in the NCAA tournament. How many will be make the tourney this March?

At this point, three are safely in: Arizona, UCLA and Oregon all would have to completely fall apart in February to miss the big dance. Colorado is No. 39 on Joe Lunardi's updated S-Curve, and stands a good chance as well.

If all of those four schools make it, the big question is whether any others will join them. Lunardi currently lists Stanford (No. 69), Arizona State (No. 70) and Cal (No. 72) among the first four out, but from that group it's the two Bay Area schools that are trending up. The Sun Devils have the toughest remaining schedule with road games at Colorado, UCLA and Arizona, but wins in any of those meetings would help their tournament chances considerably.

If we had to guess, the Pac-12 will probably send five -- possibly six -- teams to the big dance.
