Elgin Cook piling up offers
By Matt Giles
When he was a member of the 2011 class, Elgin Cook was committed to Iowa State. However, following a stint in prep school, Cook found his way to Northwest Florida State (rather than Odessa JC), part of former Tennessee assistant Steve Forbes' second-recruiting class at the junior college program.
A first year player on the squad, Cook has emerged as one of the top juco players in the nation. Per Brad Winton of Jucorecruiting.com, Cook has drawn interest from schools in the Pac-12, SEC, and other high-major conferences. What makes the 6-foot-6 wing a hot commodity? His ability to produce offensively at a high clip helps, but he has also shown a toughness to attack the glass -- through nearly two dozen games, he is averaging more than six boards a contest.
