Josh Hairston out vs. NC State?
By Joe Kaiser
Steve Wiseman of The Herald-Sun reported yesterday that Duke junior forward Josh Hairston had to miss Tuesday's practice due to an infection in his right arm, a development that could keep him out of Thursday's big game with NC State.
ESPN's Andy Katz followed up on the story, and the news doesn't look good for the Blue Devils.
"Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said Tuesday night that forward Josh Hairston is doubtful to play against NC State on Thursday in Durham after he suffered an infection as a result of stitches put into his arm from a cut suffered in last week's victory at Wake Forest. Krzyzewski said Hairston will be wearing a sling Wednesday."
Krzyzewski adds: "I'm not optimistic for this game and we'll see about Sunday against Boston College. That puts us down to eight guys.''
If Hairston doesn't play, redshirt freshman Marshall Plumlee could see his minutes rise against NC State's tough front line of Richard Howell and C.J. Leslie.
