Louisville's pro prospects
By Luke Lapinski
Despite losing Peyton Siva and Gorgui Dieng to the NBA draft last week, Louisville will once again boast an extremely loaded lineup in 2013-14. That adds up to a potential title defense for Rick Pitino's squad. And it likely means more Cardinals will be filling out draft boards next summer.
Our own Jeff Goodman ranks Louisville among his top ten prospect-loaded teams for the upcoming season, and it's easy to see why. Montrezl Harrell is projected as a potential lottery pick by our own Chad Ford, coming in at No. 14 on his early big board. Russ Smith (No. 67) and Chane Behanan (No. 80) have already compiled strong resumes at the college level, and will be looking to build on that even further in the coming year. If nothing else, their role as key contributors on a winning team will earn them a close look from NBA squads. Beyond that, top juco transfer Chris Jones is a former four-star recruit who could see his value skyrocket in the Cardinals' backcourt, and a strong junior effort by Wayne Blackshear could draw interest from pro clubs as well.
