Isaiah Whitehead on the rise?
By Luke Lapinski
Isaiah Whitehead (Brooklyn/Lincoln) was already a top priority for a number of colleges. His pure scoring ability has him ranked No. 35 in the nation for 2014, and he recently made headlines by fueling speculation that he just might choose his college as part of a package deal with another ESPN 100 recruit: point guard Ja'Quan Newton (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti).
If such a scenario were to pan out, one lucky school would land quite the backcourt tandem. That alone is enough reason to keep an eye on what Whitehead does in the coming months, and our own Paul Biancardi suggests the gifted offensive weapon is worth paying attention to because of his improved play as well. The scoring ability is clearly there, and it's undeniable that he impacts the game when he's on the floor. But he seems to be making better decisions on the fly now too. If he continues to evolve his game in that regard, his stock will likely rise even higher this summer.
