Cody Zeller's plummeting draft stock

By Joe Kaiser

There's growing buzz around Bloomington that Indiana's most valuable player this season is actually Victor Oladipo and not Cody Zeller, the sophomore big man who many projected to be the top pick in the 2013 NBA draft. How much has Zeller's stock fallen in recent weeks?

Zeller's struggles last week against Penn State (2 points, 8 rebounds) and Michigan State (9 points, 7 rebounds) both came in winning efforts by the Hoosiers, but they could be hard for NBA scouts to overlook. One person who definitely took notice was ESPN's NBA draft expert Chad Ford, who has steadily moved Zeller down on his Big Board over the past month.

Today, Zeller comes in at No. 7, a far cry from where he was at earlier in the season. Here's Ford to explain the reasons for Zeller's fall.

Chad Ford
Zeller's struggles are fueling doubts
"Zeller is coming off the worst two games of the season -- a 2-point stinker against Penn State in which he didn't score a field goal, and a 2-for-7 outing against Michigan State. No one is going to judge Zeller based on two games, but his struggles against the big, physical front of the Spartans continues to fuel doubts among NBA scouts about how his game will translate."
