UCLA down to six players vs. USC?
By Joe Kaiser
When UCLA welcomes USC into Pauley Pavilion tonight, Ben Howland's Bruins may only have six scholarship players available.
Shabazz Muhammad (stomach illness) was held out of Tuesday's practice while Travis Wear (concussion) only took part in shooting and conditioning drills, according to Ryan Kartje of The Orange County Register. Neither player is a sure thing to play against the Trojans tonight.
If the Bruins are forced to play without Muhammad and Wear, that will not only leave them down to six scholarship players but it will also leave them without two of their top three scorers this season. Howland would likely have to use Tony Parker off the bench and go with a starting lineup of Larry Drew III, Norman Powell, Jordan Adams, Kyle Anderson and David Wear. And even if that were the case, they'd still have a decent shot of beating USC (8-13, 3-5 Pac-12).
