Duke's lack of turnovers
By Joe Kaiser
Andrew Beaton of DukeChronicle.com points out that Duke recorded a season-low four turnovers and did not give it up once in the second half in its 20-point win over Maryland on Saturday.
“Against good teams like that, especially like Maryland with good athletes like [Dez] Wells, [Nick] Faust, you can’t give those guys transitions,” Duke point guard Quinn Cook told the website. “We really did a good job of taking care of the ball.”
This low turnover performance was nothing out of the ordinary for the Blue Devils, though.
According to KenPom.com, Duke turns it over on only 15.5 percent of its possessions, which is tied with Cal Poly for fourth-best in the nation behind only Wisconsin (14.7), Bucknell (14.8) and Michigan (15.4).
