How dangerous is Oklahoma State now?
By Luke Lapinski
Much of the focus of the focus in the aftermath of the Marcus Smart decision has been directed towards the money he's passing on. But what about the impact his return has on Oklahoma State? The Cowboys were in danger of suffering a pretty big drop-off had he left. Now they're a legitimate top 25 team again.
It sure doesn't hurt that Le'Bryan Nash and Markel Brown are opting to stay in Stillwater for another year as well. While it's not a shock that either of them is returning since both were likely second-rounders at best, that doesn't change the fact that they're both impact players at the college level. Now OSU has its top three weapons back in place from the lineup that won 24 games a year ago, including their floor general who is clearly one of the best in the game today. That alone makes them a team to watch out for. And the fact that a pair of ESPN 100 recruits -- Stevie Clark (No. 70 overall) and Detrick Mostella (No. 77) -- are set to lead the nation's No. 25 recruiting haul to campus next fall only makes the Cowboys' future that much brighter.
