Robert Morris' recruiting steal

By Matt Giles

Before committing to Robert Morris, Kavon Stewart was favoring several Big East and Atlantic 10 schools. However, the Colonials have long established a relationship with the city of Paterson -- before he was dismissed following last season, star guard Karon Abraham was also a native of the northern New Jersey city -- so it isn't surprising that the 5-foot-10 Stewart decided to make the trek to the Pennsylvania school.

According to some recruiting analysts, RMU may have landed a steal in the 2013 class. Eric Bossi of Rivals recently watched Stewart in action, and was effusive in his praise for the guard. While his jump shot needs work, Stewart excels at directing a team's offense and is quick enough to get into the lane and either dish to an open teammate or convert from the field. As Bossi notes, "Were he available now, he'd be one of the more heavily recruited point guards out there."
